Book Review: The Business Trip

πŸ“š My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐πŸ’«

πŸ—“️ Publication Date: January 14, 2025

πŸ“š My Review: This book hooked me at the start with its intriguing premise and fast-paced storytelling. However, like some other readers, I found the plot took a turn toward the overly far-fetched around the middle, which pulled me out of the story a bit. That said, the writing style kept me engaged, and I was invested enough to continue to the end. The final twist tied things up in a satisfying and unexpected way.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Natasha Boydell

πŸ“š My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

πŸ—“️ Publication Date:  January 13, 2025

πŸ“š My Review: This was my second book by Natasha Boydell, and it absolutely didn’t disappoint! The story is fast-paced and deliciously twisty - just when I thought I had it all figured out, another twist would pull me in deeper. Boydell masterfully builds tension, keeping you on edge as the unsettling dynamics between Naomi and Summer unfold. It’s a gripping, unputdownable thriller that left me guessing until the very end. If you love suspense with a psychological edge, this is a must-read!

Shari Low
πŸ“š My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

πŸ—“️ Publication Date: January 10, 2025

πŸ“š My Review: Wowza! All the Stars! To say that this author knows exactly how to weave together characters into a big bow at the end of a story would be putting it mildly. *Chef's kiss! This was my first book by this author and I'm not sure where she's been all my life (I'll happily add all the books to my TBR!) I loved it all, and my heart was so utterly happy at the end of it that I was torn between wanting to keep reading so fast and also not wanting it to end. Sweet, funny and heartwarming.. Add it to your list!!

Thank you to Bold Book Club and Netgally for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Book Review: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

πŸ“š Book Review: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
Julianna Keyes
πŸ“š My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐πŸ’«

πŸ—“️ Publication Date: Out Now!

πŸ“š My Review: The setting of this book feels like a snow globe come to life, full of quirky charm, sleigh rides, and "magical moments" lol. The story leans heavily on holiday clichΓ©s, but the witty enemies-to-lovers dynamic keeps it fun. It was predictable, but if you’re craving cozy holiday romance, this one’s a treat!

Thank you to Netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

πŸ“š Goodreads Synopsis: Two rival travel writers are sent on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday to learn the true meaning of Christmas without killing each other…

Eve Sherwood has never been a fan of Christmas. Too commercial, too busy. But when her editor assigns her to write a piece on Noelville, a special one-week Christmas experience, she has to go. She knows her job is to write a predictable holiday story, but how much gingerbread can one girl eat?

Will Fowler doesn’t believe in magic or Christmas, and certainly not the magic of Christmas. And he’s none too happy when he boards the train to Noelville and finds his nemesis, Eve Sherwood, already seated. Now he’s supposed to tolerate the faux cheer and the snow and the non-stop jingle belling with her sleeping in the quaint cabin next door?

Eve and Will know this trip is a test to see who can set aside their disdain and write the most absurdly sappy story in order to win an upcoming promotion. They know how the standard holiday script goes: Cynical city person travels to a small town, helps save Christmas, and falls in love with the attractive local. But what happens when two cynical city people travel to Noelville, help save Christmas, and accidentally fall for each other?

Book Review: Wish You Weren't Here

πŸ“š Book Review: Wish you Weren't Here
Portia Macintosh
πŸ“š My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐πŸ’«

πŸ—“️ Publication Date: January 8, 2025

πŸ“š My Review: Well that was a fun, chaotic rom-com! This was my first novel from Portia Macintosh and I enjoyed the writing style and pace of the book. I thought Ethan was charming and fun, though a few spots were a bit over the top! You couldn't help but feel for Lana in the midst of all the family drama and to root for her throughout. I think it's worth a read if you like second-chance romances and lovable chaos!

Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

πŸ“š Goodreads Synopsis: Lana has had enough. Her ‘perfect’ sister is getting married. In Australia. On Lana’s 30th birthday and no one seems to have noticed. To make matters worse, she’s been given a list of rules she must follow so she doesn’t upstage the bride. Well, rules are meant to be bent right?

She’s found a killer dress, now she just needs the most inappropriate wedding date she can find. But where to start? All her attempts at online dating are simply disasters, and not in the right way! Too boring/married/easily intimidated! But then her drop dead gorgeous ex Ethan suddenly reappears in her life. With the power to make her dizzy with excitement she reminds herself why they broke up. Together they literally attracted chaos until their relationship imploded. They couldn’t make it work. But could Lana make this work in her favour… just for the wedding?

However, when they arrive in Australia Ethan seems to have forgotten he’s only there to help cause bedlam. Instead he’s off the charts charming, nothing like she remembers and not playing by her rules. She’s here for revenge, not a rekindled holiday romance…but Ethan has other ideas!
